The full name of DSIP is: Delta Sleep-Inducing Peptide, which is a linear polypeptide (nopeptide) composed of 9 amino acids. It was initially discovered from the rabbit brain that it is widely present in the central nervous system, peripheral tissues and even in certain plants of a variety of mammalian bodies. This suggests that it may be an endogenous regulatory peptide with a wide range of physiological effects. It is mainly produced through chemical synthesis (solid-phase peptide synthesis). Although named for its ability to induce slow-wave sleep, its physiological effects are far more than this, involving many aspects such as neuroprotection, stress regulation, endocrine, analgesia, immunity and metabolism.

DSIP research is still in the experimental and exploration stage and has not been formally approved as a clinical drug, but its unique multifunctional properties show potential in multiple fields.

Based on its theoretical functions, DSIP has been studied and explored for use in multiple fields, as follows:

1. Insomnia and sleep disorders: This is the most direct application. Research and explore whether it can help people with difficulty falling asleep, light sleep, and dreaming improve sleep quality, especially increasing deep sleep time. Suitable for people with circadian rhythm disorders, such as those who need shift workers and people who have time lag.

2. Withdrawal syndrome: Studies have shown that DSIP may help relieve anxiety, insomnia and discomfort symptoms during withdrawal of addictive substances such as alcohol and opioids.

3. Chronic fatigue and fibromyalgia: These conditions are often accompanied by sleep disorders and restorative sleep deprivation, and DSIP is being studied as a potential treatment.

1.Regulate sleep

By inhibiting hyperactivation of the HPA axis, the three mechanisms of action are enhanced, namely, and the regulation of circadian genes, which regulate sleep.
