Product Description
Carmine (also known as magenta or carmine in English). Water-soluble synthetic pigment, bright yellowish red, single-color variety. It can be safely used for coloring food, beverages, medicines, cosmetics, feed, tobacco, toys, food packaging materials, etc. Red prismatic crystals were obtained from ethanol, with no obvious melting point, and turned black at 120℃. It appears deep red in water. It appears yellow to purple in acidic solutions. It is soluble in water, ethanol, glycerol and concentrated sulfuric acid, slightly soluble in ether and ethanol, and almost insoluble in petroleum ether, benzene, chloroform and oils. There was no poisoning phenomenon in the animal experiments. There are many types of carmine, such as food coloring and dyes.
A female cochineal insect from a tropical region is dried, ground into powder, and carmine is extracted. Then, it is treated with alum to remove impurities, and carmine is made. Pure carmine cannot be used for dyeing. It needs to be dissolved in an acidic or alkaline solution before dyeing. Commonly used acidic solutions include glacial acetic acid or picric acid, while alkaline solutions include ammonia water, borax, etc. Carmine is an excellent dye for cell nuclei, and the stained specimens are less likely to fade. It is suitable for staining both sections and tissue blocks, especially for the overall staining of small materials. The staining solution made of carmine red can last for several years. When the carmine solution becomes cloudy, it should be filtered before use.

Carmine Red Powder (also known as Carmine or E120) is a natural red dye derived from cochineal insects. It is commonly used in food, cosmetics, and textiles for vibrant red coloring. Our Cochineal Powder is sourced from high-quality cochineal insects, processed to preserve its color intensity without additives. It has a rich red color, mild odor, and slightly bitter taste. The powder is highly soluble in water. This product is used in food (0.1%-0.5%), cosmetics (0.1%-2%), and textiles (2%-5%) for coloring purposes. It stands out for its purity, natural sourcing, and consistent quality, offering a premium product at competitive prices.
